Google introduces Art Talks

A good material is made better by its delivery. The Google Art Project has since its launch has served well as an online platform which enables public access to a number of art collections. This comes from its 46 partner museums. However not all of art savvy individuals. We are left with content with little to no knowledge of how to rightfully consume them.

So after a year of launche, Google introduces Art Talks which will facilitate discussions through series of Hangouts hosted on their Google Art Project Google+ page. To quote Google’s post, the programs will have “curators, museum directors, historians and educators from some of the world’s most renowned cultural institutions will reveal the hidden stories behind particular works, examine the curation process and provide insights into particular masterpieces or artists.”
The first talk will be given on Wednesday, March 6 at 8pm by the The Museum of Modern Art. In which Deborah Howes, Director of Digital Learning, and others will discuss how to teach art online. The second will be on March 20 by Caroline Campbell and Arnika Schmidt from the National Gallery. They will talk about depictions of the female nude.
You can check and post some questions at the event page. But if it so happens that you miss the event you can still watch the discussions on the Google Art Project YouTube channel.
