Flagship hypes, Mid-range specs
The Moto X craze and attention to the Moto X is obviously not given by hardware consideration but of promised experience. Tailored to provide an enhanced and even experimental experience, for this type of phone, it's senseless to even start discussing specs - comparing to flagship phones like Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5 or HTC One.
Features, Features and Features
Touchless Control. Yes, it hates to be touched. Kidding aside, the Moto X let's you do tasks like asking for the weather with the always on voice control. This is of course with the power of Google Now's Natural Language Processing (NLP) which is afforded by a core optimized for this task.
Environment/Gesture Response. Exclusive software features allows the Moto X to respond to specific situtations. It knows when you pulled it out from your pocket that it automatically wakes up from sleep making checking your phone for updates easier. It can also launch the camera from locked state.
Cool, right?
So, who is it for?
In some sense, Motorola is not selling a phone in this context. It's selling and you're buying an experience.
If you are looking for really fast enthusiast class phones, you're better off with Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5 or HTC One. But if you're up for a new way to experience mobile computing then the Moto X might be the right phone for you.
